How to Take a Screenshot on Chromebook: On most Windows computers, you can take a screenshot using the Print Screen (PrtScn) button on the keyboard. Applications like Snagit can increase screen capture functionality by adding stronger features. But, unfortunately, there is no Print Screen button on a standard Chromebook keyboard.

To take a screenshot on a Chromebook, you must press Ctrl and the window switcher keys together. This will save the PNG image from the current screen to the Chromebook Download folder. You can press the key combination Shift + Alt + M to open the download folder directly.  You can view and edit it the same as other pictures stored on your device.

Taking screenshots with your Chromebook or Chrome OS device is very easy. For those who are not familiar with this innate feature, here’s a quick guide.

Every Chromebook has a keyboard, and taking screenshots with the keyboard can be done in several ways.

  • To capture your entire screen, press the Ctrl + window switch key.
  • To capture only a portion of the screen, press the Ctrl + Shift + window switch button, then click and drag your cursor to select the area you want to capture.

If you use an external keyboard, the combination is Ctrl + F5 and Ctrl + Shift + F5, respectively.
